About Us

The Northwood Omniscient is the award-winning student newspaper of Northwood High School in Pittsboro, N.C. The paper is produced entirely by the students in the journalism program and aims to present accurate coverage of events of interest to our readers, as well as provide an open forum for the opinions of students, faculty and the community.

In the 2017-18 school year, The Omniscient will print four issues, printing 1,400 copies of each issue. All students and faculty of Northwood High School receive the paper free of charge, and additional copies are distributed around the community. Content on the website is updated daily.

All production costs associated with the newspaper are covered through advertising sales and fundraising by journalism students. For information about advertising, please contact adviser Neal Morgan at nmorgan@chatham.k12.nc.us.

We welcome letters to the editor, which can be delivered to the advisor in Room 607, sent to the school’s address, or emailed to nhsomniscient@gmail.com. Letters must be signed, and the staff reserves the right to reject any letter containing libelous statements, to edit for length and to ascertain the truthfulness of the content. Unsigned editorials represent the majority view of the editorial board. Columns, letters and cartoons represent the views of the authors.
