Northwood Lacrosse comes into the season with high expectations after both teams made the playoffs last year. With the men’s team only losing three seniors, the team is ready to make a strong push toward a State Championship. On the women’s end, they have strong leadership with also having many seniors return for their final year.
The new head football coach, Mitch Johnson, started his first day at Northwood on Monday, Feb 6. He has a firm background in coaching and teaching, which started from a young age.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, senior Dream Walker became the first female wrestler at Northwood to win a State Championship.
Northwood’s swim team traveled to Greensboro to compete against 19 other teams at the 3A Central North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Regional Swim Championships on Friday, Feb. 2. The women’s team placed second overall and the men’s placed tenth overall in the competition.
