The Monster Dash, which took place Oct. 16 this year, is a 5K race organized annually by the PTA of Pittsboro Elementary School to help raise money to support students and staff. The event supports several school-wide efforts, including updating technology, such as classroom computers, and the Panda Pack Program (PPP), which helps provide food for students in need and prevents hunger in the community. The event was sponsored by local businesses such as Virlie’s Grill, 58 Craft Beer, Carolina Home Mortgage, Hopper Cummings PLLC, Pittsboro Animal Hospital, New View Eyecare, Julie Roland Realty, 7 Dance Center, Farrell, Presher and Washing LLC, House of Hops and more.
