Let’s meet Northwood’s 2019 Executive Student Council candidates.

President

Kharrington Godbee

“My name is Kharrington Godbee! I am currently a junior at Northwood High School. I have served on Student Council for most of my high school career and I am an advocate for the rights and inclusion of students while breaking an ‘us vs. them’ mentality. It is important to know that I am a student as well and I will strive to revive pride with the help of you! I cannot do this job of Student Body President without your help. So help me, help you, and produce the promise! Beyond the title and beyond the talk, it is time to take action with Kharrington Godbee.”

Shamar Wilson

“What’s up everybody? My name is Shamar Wilson, and I am running to be your 2018-2019 Student Body President. The Student Body President is an integral part of student council. They are in charge of writing up agendas for meetings, assigning senators to committees, and taking charge in interclub council. Aside from these duties, my goal as President will be to focus hard on working cohesively as a whole within the student body. I would like to further upon inter-club council and make Northwood the best place for all students regardless of their race, sexuality, sexual orientation or religion. In terms of my campaign, my main goal is to be personable and communicative. During this whole election week I will be going around talking to the student body so they can have a more personal connection and feel for who they are voting for and have put up posters around the school, so make sure you look out for a ‘Wilson For The Win’ poster this week!”

Vice President

Elizabeth Horton

“My name is Elizabeth Horton and I am running for Student Body Vice President. I have been a part of student council for the past three years as a class representative, class secretary and currently as the Student Body Vice President. STUCO has become a very large and influential part of my life. I have met some of my best friends participating in student council and truly enjoy my job, which is why I’m running for re-election this year. I am very passionate about civil rights and especially voting rights. I also want to go into government and deal with these issues when I get older, which is why this position is great for me.”

William Lake, fellow student body vice president candidate, did not respond to Northwood Omniscient’s request to comment.

Secretary

Mackenzie “Zie” Norris

“My name is Zie Norris and I am running for secretary for the student body. I will fulfill the role of secretary to the best of my ability. I have always been organized and creative, and with these qualities, I can give the student body the opportunity to be more involved and active at school and outside of school.”

Treasurer

Karli Kolls

“Hi guys! My name is Karli Kolls and I’m running to be your student body treasurer. I decided to run for this position because of the great experience I’ve had on council the past two years. I would love to bring new ideas and projects to the entire student body, rather than just my class. Thank you for considering me! Voting is March 21-22.”
